Meet our Church Staff & Board
Rev. Randall L. Robinson has served as lead pastor since July, 2011. A graduate of Oral Roberts University and O.R.U. School of Theology, he was ordained in 1983, has served churches ranging in size from 40 to 800+ members. He has also served as a district superintendent. Pastor Randy’s ministry is to lead St. James to become a healthy, growing, spiritually vital, risk-taking center for making and equipping disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
He is married to Laura B. Robinson and together they have two daughters, Rachael and Sarah. Rachael’s children are Carrick and Liliana. Sarah is married to Dan Zalipski and they have a daughter, Adelin Rose.
Pastor James was raised in St. Louis. He joined the Marine Corps and was a telecommunications technician. Staff Sergeant Fielder felt the call to ministry and moved to central Illinois. He finished his bachelor’s degree at Illinois State University, and worked for Farm Credit Services of Illinois as Director of Information Systems. He was also busy earning his master’s of divinity from Liberty University. His Doctorate of Ministry is from Northern Theological Seminary.
Pastor James has been the associate pastor of the New Horizons UMC in Champaign, the minister of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist church (Champaign), and pastor of the UMC in Bement. He was appointed the founding pastor of Urbana’s Fellowship of the Way.
He has one daughter, Najha, who lives in Champaign.
Pastor James is active in community outreach programs which address fighting against violence, bettering education for all, developing leadership skills within communities, as well as teaching paths to personal growth.
